Personal Responsibility – Taking responsibility for oneself is a key to recovery.  This year we are emphasizing taking personal responsibility, because of this you may notice some changes from past conferences.  Here are a few things you should be aware of:

While there will be a nurse on duty at the conference, you will be expected to handle most of your medical needs, including making your own arrangements to go to the doctor or hospital if necessary.  In case of life threatening emergencies EMS will be called.

There will not be a PEER support room.  Please talk to friends and acquaintances if you have things you need to discuss.

Wheelchairs will not be available, if you need wheelchair assistance please bring your own.

If you need rides to or from the conference, restaurants, etc. please make those arrangements on your own.

Conference and Hotel Registration –   Conference Registration will open at 9:00 am, however you will not be able to check into your hotel rooms until 4:00 pm.  Please leave luggage in your vehicles there will not be a place to store it in the hotel.

Evaluations are Very, Very, Very, ImportantPlease complete and return evaluations for the conference and for all workshops.  Not only are they important in planning future conferences, but are vital in demonstrating to funders the importance of the conference.  Whether there is a recovery conference next year may depend on the input we get from the evaluation forms.

Quilt Raffle – A beautiful quilt has been donated and will be raffled off with the proceeds going to the CAC Miscellaneous Fund.  A donation of $1 per ticket or $5 for 6 tickets is requested.  Please feel free to look, but please do not touch the quilt. The drawing for the quilt will be held at the end of the conference.  You must be present to win!

Recovery Stories/Interviews –  You will have the opportunity if you wish to share your “recovery story” either in written or video format. The stories/interviews may be posted on our website, YouTube channel, Facebook page and other social media outlets. They may also be made available in other formats for educational, informational, or publicity purposes.  You may participate in the interview anonymously or use your name. (Either first name only or first and last name) We are collecting these stories to encourage others in their recovery and to demonstrate to funders and other interested parties the value of consumer led programs.

It is Not to late to Join Us!   Over 230 people are already registered for the conference and it;s not to late to join us.  Complete details are available here!
