The CAFE TA Center is pleased to announce its newest online training, Workforce Development: Advocating for Peer Support Specialist Positions.

Within the mental health community, the value of peer specialists and their ability to connect with others by virtue of their combination of lived experience and expertise is relatively well-known. However, among funders, providers and other segments of the healthcare system, peer specialists are not always viewed as valuable professionals that can improve outcomes for people with mental health needs.

Workforce Development: Advocating for Peer Support Specialist Positions seeks to address this disconnect by offering information on the positive impacts that peers specialists have, as well as strategies that individuals and organizations can use to advocate for the inclusion of peer support specialists in the mental health system of care.
