The Kansas Consumer Advisory Council for Adult Mental Health, Inc. (Kansas CAC) is a consumer organization serving the geographical area of Kansas and dedicated to improving the lives of people with psychiatric disabilities. The organization is entirely made up of people who self-identify as current or former consumers of mental health services. We all have important values and ideas, things we care about and want to share. Sometimes we feel our ideas can even change the world, and we want to let other people know how they can join in and make all our lives better. KanCare 2.0 – Open for Public Comment through November 26th
Notice for Updated Public Comment Period Timeline – KanCare Renewal
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) will submit to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) a request to renew the KanCare demonstration under Section 1115(a) of the Social Security Act for five years, effective from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2023.
KDHE is modifying the public comment period to run from October 27, 2017 until November 26, 2017. Comments will be accepted until November 26, 2017; and the State intends to submit the renewal request no later than December 31, 2017.
KDHE will host a round of public comment meetings and have a formal public comment period, during which the Centers for Medicaid Services (CMS) will review and act upon the state’s extension request.
